Laxilin is a laxative preparation made of medicinal plants, offered in two forms – capsular and syrup one.
The capsules contain purified extracts of buckthorn, common pipe, flax seed and mint. The syrup contains the same extracts without flax seed.
The two forms of Laxilin are created thanks to the long experience of Bulgarian herbalists, healers and scientists. The product is an alternative to laxatives, containing Folia sennae. Recently, folia sennae was studied by many authors and they came to the conclusion that its long use was not recommended. Scientists have found that the extracted from Folia sennae glucosides, called sennosides have genotoxic and mutagenic effect on mucosa of the colon increasing the risk of development of carcinoma. Besides, metabolites of the sennosides are absorbed and get into the blood and the lymph. Significant part of them accumulates in the kidneys and the risk of malignant formations increases several times.
These scientific facts cannot but be worrisome.
In Laxilin toxic mutagenic effects are absent. It can be applied safely for a long time. The preparation is precised and standardized.
Laxilin is a safe alternative in treatment of chronic constipation.
